Stephanie Shelfer Lopez is an actor, educator, and director. She received her BA in Theatre from Kennesaw State University and her MFA in Acting and Performance Pedagogy from California State University Long Beach.
Stephanie has experience teaching acting to K-12 and for colleges and universities. She has taught acting at CSULB, Santa Ana College, Orange County School of the Arts, and CSArts Academy. She also offers private coaching to clients.
Stephanie continues to perform and work as a professional actor. A few of her favorite roles on stage are as follows: Soccer Mom in The Wolves (CalRep), Olympe de Gouge in The Revolutionists (Cal Rep), Agnes Sorrel in The Lark (Company of Angels), Hecuba in Women of Troy (Classic Theatre Works), Susannah in Bedroom Farce (Wayside Theatre), Madame Duparc in La Bete (Wayside Theatre). Most recently she participated as a performer in Collab 24 Devised Theatre Festival where her group’s piece “Out of the Shadows” won the Audience Choice Award. Directing credits include the original devised sketch comedy show, Mooz Nooz, and the new play, Avocado Avenue, with OCSA Seniors.
Stephanie is passionate about devising theatre for social change. She recieved a Distinguished Achievement in Creative Activity Award for her collaboration on Mooz Nooz with CSULB undergraduate theatre students, alumni, and professional actors. She believes in creating a nurturing environment where artisits can grow and express their creative individuality!
